The development of the Telescope Control System (TCS) of the future European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) and other projects of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) will be largely model driven in the different engineering domains, as systems engineering, control engineering, software engineering, and electronic engineering.

The server works much like the source code version control system. Later changes may be committed to the server and shared with the team. The UML model is stored in the teamwork server repository and every developer working with either the Standard, Professional or Enterprise edition of MagicDraw may lock a part of the model and work on that part individually.
